As some of you know, I recently spent ten days in Ireland filming for a travel show pilot series. From the start, I knew it was going to be a harrowing ordeal simply because our schedule/itinerary was brutal in print form, and it's always worse when you try to actually do it. I was right. But by far the worst of it was that our host's father passed away midway through the trip, and she had to fly back early. We only got about half our filming in the can, but this was obviously far more important. We still got enough to make a couple episodes, though. Consequently, since I did not qualify for the bereavement fee waivers from American Airlines

It would seem that dA has undergone a great many changes since the last time I was able to spend a significant amount of time here. I've been too busy actually making a living at photography that sometimes it's impossible to enjoy it as my passion. When you're a working photographer, you can't always shoot just the stuff you *want* to shoot, especially when you're not in what is classified as a "major" market, i.e. New York or LA. Or London. Or Paris, or wherever. Lately, though, I've had the "fun" assignments. Lots of AP and magazine/editorial work. Can't complain about that. TIME Magazine picked up my photos of conservative pundit Glenn Beck for a feature in the upcoming issue, as well as online. Check out the online slideshow here. I'm excited about it; this is my first time in TIME, as far as I know. Any of my AP or Getty stuff could have run and I would never know, but this is my first feature with them.
